  • Nearsightedness
  • Farsightedness
  • Astigmatism

LASIK The majority of our patients leave with 20/20 vision. You can reasonably expect to end up with 20/40 vision even if you need a severe correction. With 20/40 vision you will be able to pass a driving exam.

Am I a Good Candidate For Lasik Surgery?

There are certain factors that come into play when deciding if you would be a good candidate for Lasik surgery. These include but are not limited to:

  • Your age – you must be at least 18 years old
  • No vision problems within the last two years
  • Good eye health

Understanding that perfect vision after surgery is not guaranteed

The only way to know for sure if you are a candidate for the procedure is to make an appointment for an evaluation and to discuss the options for your particular condition. Even if someone else has told you that you are not a candidate, come to us for a second opinion. We pride ourselves on keeping up with the most advanced technology, so it’s possible we can help even if someone else has turned you down.

What Can I Expect After Lasik Surgery?

In most cases, your eyes will be back to normal in about 24 hours. We advise that patients refrain from reading or doing any work requiring close up vision. Most people find they can drive and go to work just a few days after surgery. There will continue to be slight changes as your eyes heal for a few weeks after surgery.

Here’s what you can expect after surgery:

  • We will schedule a follow up exam to make sure the healing process is successful.
  • You can still wear contacts, if need be, if you were able to do so before surgery.
  • Your correction will last for your lifetime but will be affected by normal aging.

So what are you waiting for?! Make an appointment and see what you've been missing!
