James Gordon, M.D.
James R. Gordon, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon with over 14 years of experience. He has performed thousands of procedures including cataract, LASIK and major cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. He has a particular expertise in the handling of challenging and complex oculoplastic cases. Dr. Gordon has once again been named 2014 Castle Connolly's "Top Doctors” and is proud to be recognized as one of New York’s best doctors.
Dr. Gordon obtained his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine. During Dr. Gordon's residency at St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC, he was appointed Chief Resident and he founded the Cosmetic Clinic of Cabrini Hospital. His fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery, also at St. Vincent’s Hospital, advanced his surgical skills and passion for eyelid aesthetics. Since then he has published numerous papers and has given extensive lectures on ocular disease and eyelids and facial cosmetic procedures. Most recently, Dr. Gordon held the position of Section Chair at the First International Laser Summit held at The Cornell Club in New York City.
Dr. Gordon is a pioneer in the research and development of the LightPod Era - the world’s first portable erbium laser for skin resurfacing. As a certified trainer in this laser, Dr. Gordon is instrumental in the training of many physicians throughout the country. Dr. Gordon is best known for restoring and enhancing his patients' appearance while preserving a natural look.
In addition to his busy practice, Dr. Gordon promotes awareness of health issues through his rap music (www.DontBurn.com). He brings his passion and commitment to patient care through community service and volunteer work - including visits to nursing homes and involvement in surgical relief work in India.
Smitha Voleti, M.D.
Smitha Voleti, M.D. is a board-eligible, fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist. She graduated cum laude from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York and then earned her medical degree from New York Medical College as part of an accelerated medical training program. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Voleti completed a medical internship at Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut. She then returned to New York Medical College for her ophthalmology residency. During her training, she presented research studies at both regional and national ophthalmology conferences and was selected to serve as Chief Resident in her final year. She then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital, where she trained with world-renowned experts in the field of glaucoma.
Dr. Voleti practices general ophthalmology with a sub-specialty focus on the diagnosis and medical / surgical management of both routine and complex glaucoma. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society.
AnnMary Abadir, O.D.
AnnMary Abadir, O.D. is a Board Certified Doctor of Optometry. She was born and raised in Jersey City, N.J. and received her undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University, graduating in 1997 with high honors. She received her optometry doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2000 and completed her residency in primary eye care at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in New Jersey.
Dr. Abadir joined Westchester Eye Associates in 2007, and since then has had extensive experience in educating patients for refractive surgeries such as PRK, LASIK, LASEK and Intralase. She specializes in contact lens evaluations and fittings and is available to assist the surgeons at Westchester Eye Associates with post-operative patient care. Dr. Abadir fits both customized and traditional contact lenses, and performs comprehensive routine eye examinations and emergency eye evaluations.
